Motion on a Path

  1. Create a new Flash movie
  2. Save as CarPathYOURNAME on your drive.

  3. Draw an S shaped road with a dashed line across the stage on one layer
  4. Make a new layer for the car
  5. Open your car race and drag one of the cars from the race into your new movie (from the library to the stage) ONTO THE CAR LAYER
  6. Right click on the car and Create Motion Tween
  7. Draw the end of the motion tween to frame 40
  8. Click 1/3 of the way down the timeline
  9. Move the car to the first curve in the S
  10. Click 2/3 of the way down the timeline
  11. Move the car to the 2nd curve in the S
  12. Drag the motion path to make the car move smoothly
  13. Press ENTER to test the movie
  14. At each curve in the S use the free transform tool to rotate the car so it is facing the right way on the road
  15. Press CTRL-ENTER to publish the movie
